From 1.7.2025 – We are increasing the damage limit for police involvement in accidents and introducing online damage reporting

To reduce the need for police presence at minor fender benders, the damage limit requiring police intervention in traffic accidents is being raised from the current CZK 100,000 to CZK 200,000. However, if you’re unsure about the extent of the damage, you can still call the police. In cases involving injuries, damage to third-party property, or if the participants to an accident are unable to safely restore traffic flow, contacting the police is mandatory.

You also no longer need to fill out a traditional paper form to report the damage. An amendment to the Act on Traffic on Roads now allows for joint accident reports to be submitted via the web application of the Czech Bureau of Insurers:
