From Christmas 2023 in the Czech Republic without a green card; but take it abroad

The new law cancels the so-called green card for proving payment of third party liability insurance in the Czech Republic.

Thanks to the digitalization of the insurance control system, the card is losing its significance.

All concluded third party liability insurance contracts must be entered in real time into the Czech Bureau of Insurers register, which can be accessed by state authorities – e.g. the Police or traffic inspectorate.

Thus, the Green Card will now serve only as an international proof of payment of the third party liability insurance when drivers travel abroad.
